Swapping boat parts, winches/RF is it worth it?

So my current boat (Sabre 28) has harken RF and very nice self tailing sheet winches that are less than 10 years old. I have been looking
hard at the pearson vanguard and the bristol 32. Are these likely to fit a 32' boat ? Is it worth it to save these parts and swap it out? All I would need to do is go to bacon and buy a suitable hank on jib. I really like these self tailing winches, I priced them new and the pair would be. $1,200.

Thanks.

If you look at sailboatdata.com for each boat, it can give you an idea.

I recently checked my two boats. I have 2 155% genoas for my Albin Vega in Michigan. I was thinking of bringing it to Florida in case of light winds when I move the Westsail 32 from Miami to Ft. Pierce.

27' Vega vs. 32' Westsail.  I knew it was a bit of a lark. Sailboatdata.com has an estimated forestay length for each boat. The Westsail's forestay is 15'(!) longer than the Vega. If you look at bowsprit and all on the Westsail that it makes sense.  Or the fact that the Vega displaces 5000# and the Westsail 19,500#.

The chances that your RF will be interchangeable are slight.  Also, look at the quality of the construction or design of your RF. This spring I helped get a Westsail 42 ready and crewed from NY to FL. We replaced the RF - 53' of forestay!!  The original RF was a design that used the bolted & glued together RF foil as the actual forestay. We replaced it with a Harken Mark IV RF which allowed a forestay to run up through the foil.  Much safer in my opinion.

Sorry to bury you in my $.02 this week. :-)

Good point, thank you. I have very little idea what fits what. However I think the winches will be interchangeable. There has been a weird deflationary trend with sailboats. I paid $5000 for a solid Sabre 28 with RF, ST, diesel and lots of extras and electronics. I called about her 14 hours after she was posted on Craigslist and bought her cash in hand. Sweet boat considering I moved from SoCal to  Annapolis in a pinch. She has been a sold boat but not my bluewater cruiser. I must say, very, very good boat.
