That's basically like a typical 20 or 22ft boat inside. Narrow with only sitting headroom. The Vberth is very narrow so the 2 quarter berths are what gets used. Fast off wind and very responsive boats!
They'd wanna be very good friends that tight for that long...
God made small boats for younger boys and older men

I watched this and it was really neat-light on details but a lot of lovely footage of the boat sailing, really inspiring. The way it was presented made it seem like they had mostly beautiful weather. Improbably, it seems that there's a long history of Sharks making extended voyages. I found three verifiable accounts of Trans-Atlantic crossings in the type, as far back as the 1970s, and an anecdotal account on the class website of a voyage to Australia from the Great Lakes. Really interesting stuff-who know those odd little boats were capable of so much!

I sailed across the Atlantic, Summer 2009, We had 20 straight days of fabulous weather from St. Thomas, USVI to Azores. The next part of the trip was 10 days from Azores to Scotland. That leg showed us a completely different ocean. Several days of strong winds, big waves and living life at a tilt.

That was a pleasant show to watch on a NH winter day. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I'm not happy unless I'm complaining about something.
I'm having a very good day!
