I'm currently de cluttering my cape Dory 28 and I can't believe the redundant supplies I have. Namely, several spools of stainless wire, about a dozen pocket/rescue/emergency/utility knives, ditto kitchen. Piles of new batteries, 4 handheld gps(s), lots of expired canned food that wasn't easily accessible, a 2 liter of mineral oil. Also, piles of heavy tools that I mostly use.  Lots of over lap here (Working that out currently) lots of "extras" that's not immediately needed, spares, filters etc.

I think I'm going to eliminate everything that burns kerosene, get rid of that stuff. Including extra single burner kerosene stove, Kerosene lamp.

Paint/epoxy supplies. Chip brushes, mixing cups, cetol, varnish, fiberglass mat. The list goes on.

Lots of extra anchor rode and line. Various extra dock line, spare line.

Don't get me started on the hardware, rigging pieces, shackles and screws/nuts and bolts.

Anyways, I was thinking this was a great topic little discussed. So what have you brought on a cruise or needed that you didn't have? Also pertaining to areas where food and supplies aren't as accessible.

Planning on cruising the Bahamas/south Florida carrying as little as needed.
