I was following Alan's Utube channel Wave Rover:

from the time he set out on his round the world adventure in a small sailboat, and was very disappointed when he wisely abandoned the project due to covid, and even more so when he sold his boat.   That has all changed now, and he is building an even smaller boat designed very specifically to meet his cruising needs for his round the world project.   What better way to occupy the time while the world gets over Covid, and we have to wait for countries to open up again.  Many cruisers were put in crisis by closures, and at least one, Patrick Childress died of covid in South Africa.  Under the circumstances, staying home was the better part of wisdom.     He applied all the things he had thought of while voyaging, and with the help of a naval architect designed his "perfect" micro cruiser.  Dory hull, bilge keel, shallow draft, cargo for ballast, full width cabin with no side decks, and a junk rig, as well as small and light enough to be built in an ordinary garage........... a great project I look forward to following.    There truly can be a silver lining in every dark cloud if you look hard enough.
