Somewhere someone recommended this title....I'm not sure who or where, but it just arrived ... a used hardback copy from  Amzn.  The true story of a man in Minnesota who designed and built a 10' sailboat...........  You read that right TEN FEET LOA.... to sail  across the Atlantic.  It details all his testing on White Bear Lake, and his voyage across the Atlantic.... I got it last evening, and am approaching the half way mark.   An amazing endeavor, and not one I'd care to undertake

The title rubs me the wrong way for some reason.  The ocean is the ocean.... it is indifferent.    It is not an opponent, nor is it an ally.........it's just the ocean.   It is what it is, and it does not set out to destroy us puny humans who dare to venture upon it, not does it choose to shepherd those deserving of it's kindness safely to their destination.   It's just the ocean, nothing more, nothing less.
