Having always been a trailer sailor, I never had the need for a dinghy.
I can get the Compac 19 into skinny enough water to wade ashore.  With the Seidelman, a dinghy is neccessary to anchor out and still make trips into town.  I've been watching Craigslist for used inflatables, but all the ones that come up are too far a drive.  Yesterday I went to the local provision store down near the harbor to see if they had any used inflatables.  They didn't, but they took my info and said they'd put the word out.  Not an hour later they gave me info on a local 10' Achilles for $250.  I picked it up this afternoon and pumped it up.  The gauge on the foot pump wasn't working so I didn't pump it up all the way.  I did find a tiny hiss coming from the port tube near the transom.  Tomorrow I'll return to the store to thank them and pick up a hypalon repair kit.

Clearly a timely bargain!  Certainly appears to be in good safe shape.

A new pressure guage will provide optimum inflation, for long life and good rigidity.

Use a toothpick and work a little extra glue down into the frayed fabric for a stronger patch.

👍👍

Just like a big RV towing a small car to get around, you’ve got your ride.
God made small boats for younger boys and older men
