Spring is in the air

I had to drive by the boat storage yard next to the marina in a nearby town this week. Covers were off of most of the boats, the hatches were open on several with ladders leaning up against the hulls and owners putting away at boat preparation for launch.
It always struck me as a magical time. I shared camaraderie with other owners and dreams of Summer adventures to come.
Boating is not just sailing, but all the rituals that go along with boat ownership. The trick is to learn to embrace and enjoy them all.

When I moved down to the Typhoon 19 on a trailer, and began to keep the boat at home, I was thrilled to be independent of the boatyard. However, I did lose much of that camaraderie you wrote about...of being in the boatyard with other boat owners.

Now we may find some of that on sites like this one. :)
