I gave up finding a Flicka. I did find a boat I fell in love with back in 1988. I had the chance to buy one back in 2015, but decided to buy the lot our house now sits on. Weeks ago I made an offer on a 1990 Pacific Seacraft Orion that was only a 2 hour sail from home. All was set for a survey and sea trial, until the night before when the hired captain was rushed to the hospital with an acute appendicitis.
A short delay and the static inspection was performed and the new captian, broker, and I brought her to Oriental for a short haul. The broker discovered the prop had a cracked blade so the sea trial was delayed until a new prop arrived. In the meantime, the seller had the cutless bearing and zincs replaced. He also had the yard sand and paint the bottom. I visited the boat today and the bottom job done was far superior to the one I had done on my Seidelmann at another marina 2 years ago. If we can find a captain for this Friday, the boat will be relaunched, the engine realigned, and sea trial with the surveyor performed. Fingers crossed!

The technician who was going to align the motor wasn't available so it's been rescheduled for after Christmas. Oriental has an "Instead of Football Regatta" on New Years day and I'm hoping to have it for then.

One of the other boats I hang with is a PS 27. Proper little ship!

Sounds like you got a cherry! :)

A very good friend of mine has had his Orion for a few years now, and he and his wife love it. They were here IIRC 3 years ago, and I shot some pics.

Finally had the sea trial this morning with great results and the closing this afternoon.  I didn't arrive home until after 4pm, so I moved our Seidelmann to our dock and will bring the Orion to the slip tomorrow. (water is too skinny at our dock for the Orion)

After so many delays it was great to get through this. Even the weather helped out. It was predicted to be 40*, 8mph winds, and raining. It was 52*, 18mph winds, and sunny. She blasted through the 2' rollers with ease and I can't wait to get her back out for a longer sail.
