Still looking for my cruising boat - long keeled ketch 35' - 39' range...
Found a Seafarer 38 ketch and wanted some comparisons - I was looking at morgan O/I 37 or allied princess 36 ketches - and then came across these boats.
Curious if they have been involved in much bluewater sailing.
any input welcome

One sees the Allied Princess ketches all over the Caribbean.  A friend, Steve, has one that has performed impressively.  We hauled out next to one another in St Maarten.  I can attest to the rugged construction.  Judging by the cruising Steve has done, they must sail pretty well, too.

I looked up the Seafarer and Morgan models on Yachtworld.com.  My sense is that Morgan is best if you are cruising in thin water.  Shallow boats are disappointing on long offshore routes.  The Seafarer is a Phil Rhodes design.  End of discussion.

This is an aside.  Have you considered how vastly more simple it is to sail and cruise a 30 foot/10,000 pound or less boat?  I push 38 to 45 footers around all year for work.  My plans for a boat don't get bigger than the raciest, skinniest, lightest 33 footers or performance oriented cruising 30 footers.  Nothing over ten thousand pounds.

Just a question.
