Be afraid, there's cute pictures to follow!

We just attended the coast guard christmas party. Miles was very well behaved indeed, and when the boat came in off a rescue/assist and they called in to ask if someone could come down and coil ropes and get everything squared away so the crew could get their share of the barbeque goodies...well Miles was first to volunteer.

Taking his duty with the serious dignity it deserves.

Engine check under way.

The port engine sounds wrong, daddy.

After the retrieval....

hmmmm...he might be better at backing the boat trailer then I am!

Yeah, I think he really might be.

Alex.

Wow, I didn't know tenders had twin Honda 200's.  Bet Miles loves to crack the throttle open on that.  Cute young sailor.  I've  a grandaughter about his age.  Interested in prearrangements?  :D

He's a salty lookin' young fella, already!

"Start 'em young" is a family credo; my niece was at the seabuoy in a jonboat before she was 1, beginning to steer the skiboat (or work the throttle, both with Dad right there) at 2, and now at 7 she pilots a 16' skiff w/25hp outboard better than a lot of older weekend warriors I've seen. :)

She loves to tell her brother, who's *only* 5, how to run the boat...  ::) lol
