I have some good news to share, and may have some bad news to share if I get permission to mention it. But I'm going to hint broadly.

Sam L. Morse has a BCC kit boat on the ways whose owner has to sell it. The boat is apparently offered for $60,000:
QuoteHull & Deck with following items are installed.

Interior work (installed)
Ballast
Main Floor
Bulk heads (Main, Engine, lazarette, bits)

Exterior work (installed)
Deck are installed with cover board and rub rail.
Bulwarks and taffrail.
Rudder is installed.

Considering the current price is $285,000 for a completed boat, and the owner paid $70,000, this sounds like a really great deal!

Now the broad hint: since this is potentially the last hull to be built by Sam L. Morse, I would strongly encourage anyone who loves the BCC or the Falmouth Cutter to act immediately.

Drool.

Don't have $60,000 but even if I did, I've fallen for another...  :)

(Hey, ya'll, please don't tell Becky about this - the BCC was her #1 choice a while back)

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  -Mark Twain

Yeah, but you don't post a link to the beastie...  :(  I do like the Falmouth Cutters, very pretty little boats.

Right there on the home page is the description. I called them up, sent e-mails... but it's just not the boat for me at this point in life (one kid left to get enrolled in college...)

These are the boats of my dreams and I hope to find a used one in the next couple of years. The Bristol Channel Cutter is beautifully layed out and relatively roomy and I like the lines of both it and the Falmouth cutter. The Flicka is another boat I am partial to.

I am only 68K short on this one.

The molds and manufacturing rights are now for sale for both the BCC and the Falmouth Cutter for $50k.

If a crew of people were able to share the costs to purchase molds and a place to build with them, this would be a great co-op opportunity. I'm in Canada, so it wouldn't be an easy option for me to move to California, but it's something to think about.
