Update from the S.F. Bay Race

White Miso Soup!!

I love white miso soup, with some onions a little tofu yummy!! That is what came to mind as I drove into the Berkeley hills that over look the S.F. Bay. Generally on a clear day one can see all three bridges, and point in between. Today, thick white cream miso soup. If you do not know what that is, think, white bean soup! I could not even see the trees at the bootm of the hill much less the bay.

I head off to do my thing at the Berkely Zen center then down to the Berekely Pier with the hope some of the fog had burnt off and I could get a few shots of the boats...

This what I saw! Somewhere out there were a couple hundred boats, racing at neck breaking speed of a slow walk.  Usually from here you can see S.F. , the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island.

Because, beside fog there was no wind to speak of.

There were one or two boats heading out into it. Good luck!

However let us imagin that these ducks, if multipled by a several more dozen is how the race looked.
Only The duck are most likely going faster...

Or you can use this as your race image... ;D

Should be a interesting story from Bob, but it was all about fun, and the trip, I think he is having fun  ;D

We're back from the Bay!  I'll write up the tales and lies in a bit, but I wanted to check in to report a successful trip.

Zen, thanks for the visit Thursday evening.  It was great meeting you and seeing your boat.

John, that is indeed the new table in action in Zen's pic.  It worked quite well - better than I had hoped.  :)

Frank, I haven't been blond in so many years... but the grey is limited to my mustache (and bear when I have one) and a touch around the ears.  I'm happy to say I am a pround memeber of the "Grey Haired Sailing Club" - which is a more polite description than some of us use!   :)

Adrift, have you ever watched the fog roll into San Francisco Bay in June?  The fog comes in with the wind, and there is wind in the Bay while it is foggy.  Also, I've been our on the Atlantic off Nantucket in fog banks with wind.  It does happen.

I'll tell the tales a bit later.   :)
