Good timing, some fronts for the next 3 days that will make for some nice down wind sailing.

this odd looking cloud had my attention for about 40 minutes until finally 'dissolving' its shape.A funny feeling when your 35knm out and this is coming at ya

I can see why the shape of that cloud was a bit worrying...but most thunderheads I've seen are a bit darker than that in color. :)

I've been walking around GreenTurtle today and had a revolation!! People here "SEE" you...when they pass...on foot or gulf cart...they SEE you...and wave. Up home, everyone is busy'..minds elsewhere..they 'see you'...but look right thru you....no responce!!!  People here are "in the moment" , not pre-occupied with BS...hense the waves and hello's. Just an obsevation..but SO TRUE

Frank,

I think you're on to something there :o. And I quote..."In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex." Henry David Thoreau. Oh, oh...here is another Thoreauism," I felt as Diogenes when he saw the boy drinking out of his hand, and thew away his cup." Some time ago friends of mine went to Grand Bahama on vacation. "Man, those people move slow." To which I replied " When you live in paradise, why bust your butt?" ???

Fair winds,

Pappy Jack

Frank

There is a front moving thru with strong winds today and strongerforcast for tomorrow.Rather than risk dragging, I picked up a mooring here at Black Sound Green Turtle cay.

I am glad thta you found one. There is none in Hope Town. You can find one in Man of War Cay. If you want one for more than a month let me know. Some are cheeper than others because of location and draft.

Warm front today, Blowing and brief showers, then tomarrow a cold front that shoud be through tomarrow night (we hope). Some rain and gail force winds that are shifting.

It is either dock, mooring, or 2 or more anchors in protected harbor from winds in all directions. Tis the season.

On the plus side the "Winter temps have droped below 70 3 times (upper 60's) this season in the Abacos. In Georgetown it has not. Have the blankets ready for this one!

no 'begging for an anchor thread' here ;D The island closest is totally open to the predicted winds."Black Sound" where I am now is grassy bottom and I warn'd a fellow last night that was anchored to get a mooring. He dragged @ 7am. I am confident in my anchoring ability...but I also know the erea I am in.When a local is asked 'why is it called Black Sound?...the reply is "anchor there and find out".Why 'sleep with one eye open" with 40+knot winds if ya don't have to? ;)

As forcast by Chris Parker...its blowing a steady 30 with gusts over 40. "I love my mooring "  ;)
God made small boats for younger boys and older men

Lynx

We had a warm front and then a cold front in the same 36 hrs. Wind gust reported at 49 mph.

I love my mooring!!!

The fronts have passed and a great looking clear morning with nice North winds. Temps in the low 70's.  ;D

Wow...lot of 'singlehanding' talk etc lately  ;)  Will take a bit of reading to catch up. I left Green Turtle yesterday and sailed on to Man Of War Cay and anchored out Hailed the good ship 'Lynx' and had a few gab sessions enroute to town and back. Ran into 3 other boats from previous years...hard to get things done while talking  ;) Left this mornin and am now anchored (yes Kurt..ANCHORED)out of Hope Town. This is a very pretty place.
