Laura took an overnight to kinda celebrate her "retirement" Since last Weds was her last day working for someone else ( other than herself).

She had been anchored out across the bay and was planning to stay out til Monday morning, but the forecast made her decide to come in a day early. No sense sitting out there with winds forecast for 30 to 35, gusting 40 to 45.

A sailing friend had had trouble with his engine and put the boat in down in the ICW, about 15 miles away from his slip in Port Lavaca, so I spent Sunday crewing on his boat, bringing her back home with a dead engine all under sail. He had been up a tight canal and the wind was on our nose coming out, so we had to beat out of a 50 foot wide concrete lined channel. Then sail her into the slip. Down wind :o.

And about half way back we met up with this boat, sailing along with just a main up, waiting for us ;D Since the winds had already begun to build and we were both moving at hull speed, she saw no sense in setting the jib ;)

So here's a couple of pics of Laura single handing Tehani. First time I've ever seen Tehani under sail, from another boat- Ain't she gorgeous?

Good looking boat Charlie,
I esp. like how well she sails under main. Somebody thought that one out.
When I'm sailing I'm free and the earth does not bind me...
