I've eaten coffee straight up before, but it tends to make me twitchy...and get stuck in my teeth. ;D

Water for the morning coffee is important.
Water for tea in the afternoon is also good.
After that my water consumption becomes whatever ice has watered down the Jack Daniels ;D
