Whale hits sailboat **VIDEO**

You know what strikes me most about this incident is that in contrast to the current view of whales as singing, gentle giants, our forebears saw them as fairly dangerous beasts that attacked boats and ships (granted some of these are whaling ships, so it could be argued provoked the attack), but it's hard to imagine a sailboat bothering the whale much.
I don't know, it just seems to me that the whale might have been in a bad mood, having a bad day, who knows?

The whale was simply proceeding to the next GPS waypoint.

I'd point out that the owners of the sailboat were being investigated for provoking/harassing the whale that attacked them.  I'd also point out that the person who shot the video was HIRED by the couple that own the sailboat, and that their website was quick to take advantage of the publicity generated by the whale attack video.
