Here is a message from another web-site asking for help for a series of sailing videos by Dylan Winters. I've followed him for a couple of years now on his trip around England in his 19 footer.

Fair winds and full dails,

Pappy Jack

and the "Keep Turning Left" video series:

Pocket Cruisers Unite!

Many of you know of my friend (though this crazy internet) Dylan Winter. He is a professional free lance videographer in Great Britian. If you don't know of Dylan, you should. Here's why:

Dylan hires out to do professional videography. BUT, whenever he is not "on the job", he's on his Pocket Cruiser he affectionately calls "The Slug". He decided 2 and half years ago to circumnavigate Great Britain's coast in "The Slug". Not only is he going "around" Great Britian, but he goes up every navigable waterway there is acces to from the coast. He figures that it will take him around 4 years to fully complete the journey. He documents the entire trip in beautiful professionally shot video on a website he called "Keep Turning Left". The scenes he captures totally capture the essence of what we do. His narration is great, although sometimes I have to have him explain his "English" to me! hahaha He gives a bit of history, and a bit of his theory of life mixed in with descriptions of his sailing. Each video is from 1 to 10 minutes long. A few longer a few shorter. He had hoped that eventually a TV channel might pick up his series but that has not happened. He has a "youtube" channel that allows you to see a lot of his work for free. His full website is

For the whopping sum of $4.99, as he puts it "for the less than the price of a hot cup of fancy coffee" you gain access to the entire body of his works so far. Hours upon hours of pocket cruiser sailing videos, cruising with Dylan in the 19' Sea Slug as he makes this epic trip. As far as sailing small boats goes, this body of work is a masterpiece. Many, Many of you have watched his free videos...c'mon...let's support this...It's $5 for cryin' out loud! Think of the time, energy, and expense, and comittment that Dylan has put into this project for us to enjoy.

Please do three things for me.

1. Go to youtube.com Search for "Keep Turning Left" and watch a few of the beautiful videos Dylan has posted there that you can see for free. There are quite a few of them.

2. Please email Dylan, and send him your thoughts on his works. He always emails back and is a delight to chat with. His email is:

dylan.winter@virgin.net

3. If you like what you saw on Youtube, go to Dylan's web site, click the Paypal button and cough up a measly $4.99. For that tiny sum you will get full access to the complete KEEP TURNING LEFT body of videos, hours and hours, and hours of great small boat sailing video any time you want it.

Dylan is at a crossroads right now. After 30 months doing this project, he's close to having to call it quits as it has not even met the bills for the website, equipment, maintaining the boat, music rights, google earth pro, etc. He is just like you and me. This is basically his Hobby and if he can at least make it not COST him money it sounds like he'll continue documenting and posting the journey on the web. If he can't muster up enough support, because folks watch his stuff for free and won't pay $5 to have full access it, sounds like he's gonna pull the plug on the video series and that would be a a real shame for the Pocket Cruiser family worldwide.

I have no interest in this other than I really like Dylan, and enjoy his videos regularly. They are true works of art.

Please copy and post this message to any pocket cruiser or trailer sailor boards you know or frequent. I don't think we want to lose the beautiful videos and documentarys of our way of life that Dylan gives us on a regular basis. Let's all "hire" him as a colective group to support this project. Again...his FULL website is

Thanks Guys! And tell Dylan I said Hi in your email to him!

And Dylan! One of these days buddy, we are brining you over here to film the Havasu Pocket Cruisers sail under the YOUR London Bridge!!!

OK Guys ...You have a mission ...Let's go to work to support one of our own!!

I received an email from Dylan, he has hit some hard times with the project. Apparently he relied/relies heavily on Google AdSense revenue, and some people who probably thought they were helping by clicking over and over on the ads on his site (but without any purchasing happening - a definite no-no in Google's book), in effect did the exact opposite, contributing instead to his site being judged as abusive of the system and therefore - that revenue stream has been shut off.

The above is my understanding, based on a few emails I've gotten as part of his mailing list.

So I thought I would post, and ask those of y'all who really enjoy the KTL series to maybe go a bit above and beyond the $5 subscription, see if we can't help Dylan get the mess straightened out. It might be the only way we can make sure he does the whole trip. ;)

Disclaimer: I am not associated with Dylan or KTL, I just really like the series. I think it is done extremely well and artistically, and am/was looking forward to a couple more years of exploring the UK coastline, while staying nice and warm and dry in my own boat. :) Also, I did not 'preview' this with Dylan, or ask his permission - he had nothing to do with it; it is something I undertook to post on my own as a "KTL Fan", hoping to help him out.
