Well, not really but I always wanted to say that-grin.

Laura and I will be off the board for a while. We leave tomorrow morning aboard a friends Tartan 41, bound for Isla Mujeres, Cancun and Belize. We'll be sending a SPOT report once a day to David (Grime) so he can post our position as we sail. We could be offshore as long as 7'or 8 days.

Y'all be good while we're gone-grin

May the blessing of Fair Winds follow you on your journey!

Take pictures and enjoy!

Have a safe trip.

You need me to go get a picture of Tehani weathering the winter we are still having?  You know, something to remind you of 35 N while you are in the tropics? (It snowed here a bit yesterday and some sleet this morning).

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  -Mark Twain

Sure! We won't get to see the pics for a while though. Say hello to Graham for us.

Some photos we took yesterday. If anyone is wondering about his backstay being so thick its because his SSB antenna runs up the backstay.

Have a safe passage!  It sounds like a fantastic voyage.  We've been to Belize several times and will definately go again and not soon enough.  Just got back from Isla Mujeres and found it to be a lot like San Pedro out on Ambergis Cay which is a flavor I like.  Cancun?  Well, we never made it farther than 'the strip' and honestly, I can't see it as a cruising destination ;D  Looking forward to your photos and stories.

Grime

Day 4 of their passage. Anytime you click on the link it will show you their latest position that they have sent me.

As said, we came into Progreso after 7 days to weather. All crew sick with colds by the way, but all better now.

Tore the leech on thee jib and couldn't sail to windward. Didn't have enough fuel remaining to make Isla Mujeres, so diverted to Progresso- found the chart on the IPhone by the way, at 100 miles out.

Garmin didn't know it existed.

VERY pleasant experience clearing in- all officials came to the boat- no charge other than the approx $24 tourist card fee,, good for 180 days.

Had the sail resewn for $100 US- guy did it in one day!!!

We've recouped , toured Progresso which is NOT a very touristy place yet, but will be.

Plan to sail on in the AM, towards Isla Mujeres. Sails back in shape, full fuel load and rested, well  crew.

Email from Charlie,

You saw we FINALLY made Isla Mujeres. 14 days!! But Progresso was fun- worth the few days.

And yes, we bucked to weather the entire trip. Made the last 160 miles in 3 1/2 days, at times bucking dead into 20, 24, 26 knots. Unable to sail- just motoring. YUCK!!

On the other hand

The weather is gorgeous, water a lovely jade green, fading to turquoise, blue skies and I'm barefooted and in a bathing suit.

So it's really hard to complain- grin
