Inspiring story from Japan

Somebody posted this link on the Cape Dory board. It's about a Japanese captain who took his boat out to sea as the tsunami struck, and saved her. He tells CNN that he talked to his boat, thanking her for taking him through the ordeal.

I, for one, find myself talking to my boat now and again, although she has never had to bring me through a disaster.

Thanks for bringing this Joe.

  I really like the aspect of this that goes beyond the boat as a 'thing' and not just as a
separate entity... but even to see that the connection was to his people and his island.

The guys story sounds like what you could see in that Japanese CG video, just a big mound of water pushing its way towards land.

Tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, mudslides, fires, falling trees, thieves, politicians - man...

...that living on land thing sounds like it is dangerous!
