It's that time of year.  What, if any resolutions are we making this year?  Personally I try to stay away from them or make the easy ones like this years..."I promise to sail more this year".  I works for me and my wife loves it.  Happy New Year to all.

This morning it looked so nice out I thought I'd leave it out.

I'm not gonna make any resolutions - but I have a couple of things I am going to try to do more often this year

One is sail more and the other includes a lovely female that I may or may not know at this point ;)

Hold my beer and watch this poop

I resolve to... um...

ahh um...

errr....

resolve something! Yeah, that's it! ;D

Man, I have a ton of things I could make into resolutions. I may have to stick with you guys and just go for the "more sailing" one. I'd like to join teach in his girly resolution, but there are too few fair maidens in these parts for me to bank on anything like that happening (though it would be nice! ;D).

Here's a good one: I resolve to making a bi-weekly "to-do" list of small projects on the boat that can be done in the appropriate time frame. Small steps, right? :)

I always kept my first new years resolution....that is ...to never make or keep a new years  resolution and I feel fantastic about it.

Nicely put Frank! Happy New Year to all! ;D

I woke this morning to sunshine pouring into the cabin. It was warm enough that last night I slept with the forehatch open about 6", and only one companionway board in. Looking out on the Bay, a light northerly ruffles the waters surface under a cloudless sky, and air temps are almost at 50*, headed towards 65*. I'm sitting here in sweatpants and a t-shirt, sipping my coffee as I post. What GREAT weather to start off 2006, what a fine day! ;D I hope all of y'alls New Years have a great start, too. :)

Well, the weather is a bit different here (-8 F headed for 5 ), But the feeling is the same.  Normally we would be at   -30 or -40 , So great way to start the new year for sure.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  -Mark Twain

Yea Kurt, Know what you mean.

Weather completely ruined our 'none but the brave' race.  >:(

I mean, how can you have a race called  'none but the brave' with light winds and 64degrees?   ;D

I actually like to think about my NY resolutions until around July 1, then I only have to try and keep them for 6 months.   ;D
This yr is a fun one though and I want to start earlier than July.  Get me and Pixie Dust ready for the big adventure!!  That requires Capt K's philosophy on the projects, which will also include more time on the boat, more time on the water and more sunsets with wine.  Doesn't get any better than that.

Am I the only overweight schmuck in here who's resolved to lose a bit of weight this year? Or just the only one who will admit it in writing?

I am somewhat inspired by Jack Tar's comment in another thread - where he mentions losing weight while cruising - whew - I was afraid of gaining even more (yikes)

Cheers!

I doubt it!  ;D BUT I NEVER include self-improvement in my resolutions. For 2006, I resolved to sail more, smile more, dance more with good-looking men, drink more GOOD wine and worry less. I guess you COULD call that self-improvement???? The rest will have to take care of itself!!
We're all here because we're not all there.
