After being out of sailing for about 25 years Ive got the bug again.  I am looking at a  1977 Chrysler 22 to purchase and probably do a major cosmetic restoration, (paint, woodwork and cushions) and running rigging.  However the standing rigging looks to be pretty good.  How could I check the reliability of the stays, turnbuckles, chainplates etc? That is a very expensive replacement if it is not needed.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am also looking at a 1977 Macgregor 22 that is in better condition cosmetically but also would need some rigging restoration.  Am I right in thinking the Chrysler 22 is a better made boat?
