Trailer Cruising can be small boat, long distance also :D

Not Tehani this time.This is Necessity's turn. And the hitch is on the ball. All loaded and hooked up in readiness for an early morning departure.

Bound for Florida for the next 4 or 5 weeks. Pensacola ( Craig-I'll call), then Melborne area, then Charlotte Harbor area.

Plan to spend a week or ten days sailing each spot. Will post as I have capability ;)

Sounds like fun Charlie!

Take lots of pics for us that are stuck at home!  ;)

I'm Dean, and my boat is a 1969 Westerly Nomad. We're in East Texas (Tyler) for now.

Have fun CJ !!  Gotta love trailer sailors....yep...they really are "small boat-long distance"...just much of that distance is by road.

Trailer cruising give a whole new meaning to bare poles and 70 MPH winds (going down the interstate that is).
Have fun!

Since 05, I've hauled lil boats to and cruised:

* Chesapeake bay
* Buzzards bay
* North Channel lake Huron 3 times
* Moosehead lake Maine twice
* Lake Champlain twice
* Ottawa river

Ya just can't see all those places with a big boat  ;)

CJ....once ya get going...ya may not come home  :o ;D :D

PS...Moosehead Lake in Maine is amazing!!

I used to go up to Casey's Camps on Spencer Bay & we'd use that as a base camp
for a couple of weeks hanging out up there.

I believe you are correct. Moosehead would be an awsome place to float around
& listen to the wind.

PS: Don't tell anyone LOL
I'm not happy unless I'm complaining about something.
I'm having a very good day!

Where do you put in at the North Channel?  Little Current?  Killarney?

I've followed some of these, and am convinced. Looking forward to doing some myself.

Fair winds to you Charlie. Looking forward to the report and photos.

Finally caught up with Charlie today.

  He and Necessity were back from the BEER cruise, so he called and I went down to Pensacola Ship Yard to help him lighten ship.... (Really it was an extra beer).

  We have had several "near misses" over the years, it was nice to finally meet him.
Satisfaction is wanting what you already have.

Frank

Glad you 2 met up! Nice to put faces to the posts after so many years.

I also am very glad we finally connected, after what? 4 misses?

Was a very pleasant visit.

Necessity and I are now sitting somewhere east of Tallahassee, on the way  to the WCTSS gather at Sabastian Inlet.

Ralay- miss you both- Keep on trucking- but keep lots of vinegar handy ;D

(she'll know) ;D

Necessity sits in a fish camp just above Sebastian Inlet. I sit in a motel room. Locked gates and I couldn't sleep aboard. WCTSS gathering begins tomorrow.

BEER was WET. We had a couple of 40+ knot squalls.

Did I mention wet?

the dinghy got filled to the seats with rain three times

Did I mention wet?

Was a great time anyway. Two pics- one during one of the squalls. That's a Windrose 18. And another at Sand Island Pensacola
