storm glass

I received a storm glass for a gift a little while back and was wondering whether  any one on here has ever used one? It seems to work fairly good so far and is and interesting thing to have on the boat and a great conversation starter. Right now it is predicting rain and storms in the area and will wait and see what happens with that.

used to have one in the house. It simply reacts to atmospheric pressure, like a barometer.

Was pretty neat- can't recall whatever happened to it though. Musta gotten broken while I was  out cruising.
