It gets harder and harder to resist every year. Especially after this winter in Boston, somewhere down south sounds pretty darn nice.

The Abaco's are SO easy to get to...
Once here, they are safe, next to no theft, no begging, great remote Beachs and enough little places to visit to make it interesting.
Downside is everything but rum is expensive.
Stock up before coming over...Mona holds lots!
Fishing is decent...as are lobster
Spend as much...or as little as you desire
But DO come over!
You'll wonder why you didn't sooner..

For a little island, they sure get into St Patty's day here at Green Turtle Cay.
It's my birthday as well and I joke they started the golf cart parade a few years ago just for me 😄
It begins at the liquor store where DAVID gives out free Guiness shots.
I title the first picture from there "what could go wrong?" 😄😄

Thank you, Frank, for more photos and tales.

Happy birthday, Grog to you! ...and an old Irish proverb...  ;)

May the sun always shine on your photo-voltaic panel
May your anchor never let you drag into the channel
May your composting head keep you free from marina
May you remain clear of the likes of Irma, Maria, Harvey, Katrina
May your dodger protect you from salt spray and foam
May the price of rum stay pretty darn reasonable
And if the weather up North ever gets more seasonable
May you grudgingly regretfully but safely return home

Frank

That's quite the prose 😄
Grog to ya

FWIW
The dodger DOES a great job and thankfully....the rum IS cheap!

Happy belated birthday!
I'm not happy unless I'm complaining about something.
I'm having a very good day!

Frank

Not much activity lately so figure I'd post a few recent pics.
Was up to Manjack last week to walk the beach's and feed the sea turtles and stingrays. They love squid!
Headed back up later this morning after getting a few provisions.

Beautiful.......thanks!!

Frank

Thx
Last week afloat here....hauling out next Wednesday, then several days of prep to store before heading out.
Other than a couple of weeks at home twice, I've been afloat since last July and ready for a bit of land time back at the cabin....

Thanks for the pics.
Helps to take the chill out of the air up this way.
Personally I'd stay another month till it warms up a bit up here.
poop I'm still using the wood stove. Carolina's starting to look pretty attractive....

A true "SailFar" moment!!

Nice trio of 27s anchored together.

Left, a green Pacific Seacraft 27, forefront a North Sea 27, to right my ComPac 27

Proving...Ya don't need big to cruise!

Ain't that the truth about boats some people look upon as being too small for cruising.

By the way, I do understand about wanting to get back home for a while.
Have a safe trip home Frank.

Thx
I've cruised here on a 20, 22, 23, 25, 26 27 and up.
The saying "sail what Ya got" is so true....
Yep...home....starting to miss my cabin, the stove and feeding the deer...
Kinda funny as I won't be home long and missing floating.
Gotta love the contrasts. Makes life interesting.

I've told this before, but it bears repeating

Once tied to a dock over on the Florida east coast aboard Tehani. Conversation down the dock, as I hear a ladies voice say-

"oh look at the pretty little daysailor"

Without going up on deck i said-

" yep and she's daysailed to here from Texas"

Silence

Went up on deck to find a very nice young couple walking the docks admiring boats. Turns out they were looking for a boat to do some cruising in, but had absolutely NO idea it could be done in under 40 feet or so-

Thanks to the cruising mags-

GOTTA have gotta have-etc. When they found out how many miles I had cruised, including the Bahamas, they were shocked.

Just MAYBE I got a couple looking realistically at boat sizes. Hope so anyway :)

Tehani anchored, Pipe Creek, Exumas, Bahamas

if you want to really discover and understand the joys of a smaller cruising boat, buy a large one!

p.s. thank you for the pics Frank.

Got to try out my lil waterproof (to 30ft) camera

Allure is hauled, cleaned, oil change, stripped and set for storage.
I fly out tomorrow morning.....
Took this pic with just the dodger still on. I'd never seen it that way as I always have the bimini up too.
Kinda sad but looking forward to "home" for a while.
