OOoooooo Shinnnnyyyyyy:)
i'll have to take a closer look at this :)

It looks too complimicated for me.  I would probably mount the rpi, make the connections and spray a conformal coating (Boeshield or similar) all over it.

I'm looking into this, but first impression is that it is more complicated than Openplotter.

I'm far enough in, I think I'm sticking with Openplotter.

Sorry, mates.
This project *is* using Openplotter.
Hmmmm.
I was looking at something with a similar name that seemed to be reinventing the wheel. Or so I thought. Who knows what I dreamt up?!!

I've been thinking of doing something much like this. It is way, way down the project list.

The waterproof, touchscreen display has certainly come down in price. $399 at Argonaut.com. The last time I thought about it and looked it up it was over $1200.

This is not going to be a cheap project. Much cheaper than buying a Garmin or equivalent system; but more than pocket change. But for a tinkerer, it looks like a lot of fun to build. That it's useful is a bonus.
