The 'easy' way....

   .....isn't.

  A while back Kurt posted pictures of his cabin liner that he had buffer to a mirror like shine.  I had not even thought of polishing mine, but his looked so good I asked him what compound he had used and bought the same thing.  8)


  He mentioned that it took a lot of 'elbow grease' and that polishing over your head was not much fun....   I (of course) immediately thought about a better idea..... I would do it the 'easy' way.  ;)

  Having owned a long series of cars that were slightly past their prime, I am well acquainted with various buffing methods.  I planned to break out my high speed buffer to whip that liner into shape!  :)

  A year later buffer, compound, and boat came together on an afternoon that was too cool out for any other kind of work.

  I had my brand new virgin lambs wool pad, that I had saved for a 'special' occasion.  I wiped on the polish, let it haze, and started buffing away.

  Something you never notice in a driveway is the amount of 'fluff' that comes off of a buffer.  All the more so for a brand new virgin lambs wool pad....   :(

  I noticed the tufts of wool flying around the cabin, behind my glasses, up my nose... but carried on with reckless abandon.   :o  I buffed for about 20 minutes, and decided it was time for a break.

  I paused and admired the progress (difficult to see thought my now opaque glasses).  It seemed to look good.

  Then I sat down and looked around.  The cabin looked as though I had shorn slaughtered a herd of sheep.  :o
 
  The cabin liner look pretty good... and I might have the cabin cleaned back up sometime this summer...  >:(
