We just arrived back in Texas after cruising for about a month. I spent the whole day vacuuming the boat from top to bottom until she was spotless. By the time I got the oil changed, I was feeling pretty good about myself, until I spotted a dusty corner that I had missed. I decided that I wanted a perfect job, so I pulled the shop vac back out, attached the hose, and blew fine sand from the anchor locker all over the cabin. God help me.
I have to laugh, mainly because I've been there.
At least you didn't do it over wet paint ::)
And I thought I was the only one who pulled lame-brain stunts! Watching me try to work on mechanicals is like watching a segment of the Three Stooges.
On the count your blessing side of things, you made it into port safely!
I could laugh harder if your boat wasn't also my boat. :'(
On the bright side, at least it wasn't fiberglass grindings this time...
I am laughing, too, but only because I've done almost this exact same thing.
Sorry (for laughing)...
;)
Well, there is the time I went to fix the holding tank plumbing and was SURE the tank was EMPTY... If only I had checked the inspection port...
