Title: Bad storm today...
Post by: CapnK on April 15, 2007, 05:41:11 PM
This big old Low/cold front - we got hammered by it. There was honest-to-God 3 footers rolling through the marina - compliments of 2+ miles of fetch with hours of sustained winds over 25, and gusts to 35-40. The whole Bay would white out at times, when the tops got blown off. Worst conditions I've seen here in 3+ years.

The wind has backed westerly and is coming off the land now, and so the water has calmed considerably. I'm glad this one is mostly over with, for us at least. Good luck to those of you still dealing with it!

The delivery crew was to leave Wed/Thurs, going to Bermuda on the Cat 320 that I just commissioned. Thank heavens for forecasts - they waited til Friday to be assured that the weather was going to be snotty (20-30' seas here to Bermuda for the next 3 days or so), then flew back home. They'll be returning once the weather patterns calm a bit. Left me with a fair bit of free perishables. Bonus!  8)  ;D

Bad storm? It was in the news on this side of the pond this morning.  Severe storm and huge damage on the shoreline.

How are you folks over there?  Everything OK I 'll hope...
