Just a quick note to any of you who may be near Pensacola in early June. The BEER Cruise is coming up on its 10th event. June 3rd is the skipper's meet and the cruise is the 4th through the 7th. The cruise has its own website at www.BeerCruise.info if you want to check out the route and skipper list (skipper list is in the works of being updated, but you can still email your data).
They also have a FB page at http://www.facebook.com/?sk=events#!/event.php?eid=142063669149625
The smallest boat to attend to date was I believe an 8 footer and the largest was a 42 footer, with most seeming to be in the 18-25 foot range.
Despite the name, it isn't really all about drinking beer, though a lot of beer is probably consumed on the cruise (and some rum); sailors of all ages to include kids attend the cruise.
Last year around 50 sailboats joined in from all over.
I don't have anything to do with organizing the event and am just a sailor who enjoys the cruise, but I have attended the last several years and can probably answer any questions about it or at least point you in the right direction for an answer.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass on that tidbit of info.
Fair winds,
Ben

Including Laura and I several times. Great bunch of really friendly folks. We'll do another one for sure when we can.
