I've been following this one, too. With the Flicka he's been getting about 70-75 nm daily averages.

To be fair, his course is a bit W of optimal for speed; he's already beyond the best current and well into the gyre usually ruled by the Pacific High. The Flicka is a wonderful boat, but it takes skill and attention to keep it moving at its best speeds. My guess is he's navigating down the GPS-generated great circle route to his destination, which in this case is not the fastest or safest route.

I'm watching him carefully because I may, if everything works out, be following his wake in a couple months. Sort of.

Wayne, I think you will get much better 24 averages than his. I will be your first follower. :)

Heh... Well, there are a lot of variables to overcome before I decide to push off. I really respect Coby getting beyond the preparation stage and going! For me, well, the doc will be looking at the latest oral surgery in 3 weeks to see if it's healing well enough. If that's okay, and I get a couple of important upgrades completed, and nothing breaks during the shakedown cruise, and there's a good weather window, and the el niƱo doesn't set in to change the weather too quickly/strongly, and I don't lose my nerve... then late August.

Good Luck, Amgine.
As a fellow 25D owner, I'm rooting for you! Who knows, maybe I'll head in the other direction one of these days. (Get laid off as of July 1.)

Be aware the boat Snookums is now for sale in Hawaii. Might not be a bad starting point.
