Ahhhhhhhh, I feel better. got out on the water today.
It was like much of life good and bad...

the Bad:
the wind sucked! Sadly most of the time about 80% was motor sailing. The wind suck, did I say that? irratic (sp) blowing, changing direction, stopped, not enough at time. Frustrating! grrr.

The Good:
The last time we tried a trip the motor died after about an hour. Today it ran perfect! I had changed the plugs, wire, coil. It did the trick! Sweet!

I had planned on mostly sailing today so only added 1 gal of gas. Being unsure how much was in the tank. Since the last three time I went out briefly I put gas in. When i saw I needed to motor sail, beside being paranoid about the motor stopping, I thought maybe I'll run out of gas and would be forever sailing back in this non-wind. There were No gas troubles SWEET!

We had about 10-15 mintues of GREAT WIND coming back! Ahhhhhhhhh such a good feeling!

The tiller extention is GREAT!

We made it to Glen Cove! nice lil marina.

At one point to leave I needed to backup quite a ways. It was tricky but made it and I am much better at manuvering the boat now.

The weather was great!

The reason you had no wind is because the Gulf Coast had it all- here's a pic taken at the Cypremort Yacht Club on Vermillion Bay, Louisiana yesterday. The Dauphin Island race had 163 registered boats- and 48 finishers. Winds to 48.

Getting these boats out of the slip is just like taking that first sip of coffee in the morning...AAAAHHHHHH.  Sweet.  :)
Zen, I think we have all your wind over here on the Gulf Coast.   Glad you had a great time anyway.  Just being *on* the water is an awesome thing.  I am not on the water this weekend, but it is blowing here in Tallahassee and I have talked to my water buds and they said it has been blowing 20 plus for a couple of days.
My son is graduating from college today and yesterday we had an all day cookout party to celebrate.  I say it is a very good reason to miss out on the water this weekend.  Not much can keep me from it, but this certainly ranks in high priority.   Congrats Brandon!! Momma loves you!   :D ;D

Congrats Mom !!( and Brandon)  Definately one of those 'big days' that don't come that often...worthy of missing boat time. Hope the party was fun. All the best  F
