I was showing a fellow NOAA'a weather map with wind and wave hieghts etc. Another fellow showed me this one
http://www.passageweather.com/
scroll down to waves etc. Animate for future forcasts. Good site

Frank,

I like the passageweather site (http://sailfar.net/forum/index.php/topic,1268.msg28693.html#msg28693) for shore based, "yes I have Internet Access" planning.

And...they have pretty good Gulf Stream maps, too.

With no means to get the Internet underway, however, that great resource is out for me.  I've become a fan of the NOAA/NWS weather text forecasts and maps broadcast on single side band short wave.

an alternative to passageweather.com is:

weatheronline.co.uk

got all the charts, including isobaric and wave heights....slow download on a slow internet connection, but that goes for them all
