Are you sure those are Antarctica icebergs and not the Arctic
When did you go down there??
I did 2 stints at Palmer Station and one at McMurdo
Ice
Is there some way you can convey the enormity of Berg 15 to the sailfar crew
Its hard to capture in a photo
Yes the sample shots are from Anartica. My son spent the summer of 2000 and 2001 down there. I have irreplacable discs from the area, including playing his trumpet on the south pole. He has icicles hanging from the spit valves. The other shot, if I recall is Mt. Erebus. He spent his time on the CG icebreakers, and some time on the helos, with the scientists, placing the tubes on that shot.
TheB-15 iceberg has its own website. The picture was shot and the provided link was written at the same time.

I still an amazed at the shots of the Orcas, face to faces, most of all. I have always been interested in that part of the world. I do know that some recruitment takes place for job placements, but I am way too old to do the stint now. There is a great group online for the old folks that did a lot of duty during the 1950s and 60s that still accept folks through the present date, I will attempt to find, that is has a reuinion for the guys early Oct-Nov each year.
