Title: Snapdragon and Bonzai on the loose!
Post by: Bonzai on April 02, 2012, 06:51:03 AM
We are in the process of moving my new/old boat to St Simons Island from Cocoa Bch. Presently hauled out at Cape Marina in Cocoa for bottom job and planning to head up coast outside by this Wednesday. We are taking lots of pics and having a great time so far except for delays out of our control such as locks being closed and slooooow marina workers. :o

OK guys, I'm going to try to upload a few of the pictures we took on the trip moving Bonzai's new/old boat from Satellite Beach, Fl. to  St. Simon's Island, Ga.  I've finally made it back to the farm and my desktop computer.  I still haven't figured out how to do this on the Ipad.

This is the boat, a 1964 35 ft Chris Craft Sailyacht.

We spent a few days getting her ready for sea.  Most of the systems were in better shape than this anchor windlass, but would you believe a few shots of Capt'n Bob's favorite rust buster and it worked like a charm!

Here's Capt'n Bob taking her through the swing bridge and around Dragon Point en route to Port Canaveral.

The first Bascule bridge is behind us.  We're feeling a little more confident.

tying up in the Canaveral Lock.  No problem!  Heavy on the reverse!  No wonder he's called "Bonzai".  We didn't even bump the seawall.

The second Bascule bridge.  Capt'n "Bonzai Bob" handles it like a real pro.

This old girl really has some nice lines to her.  The weather we encountered a few days later proved they were well found.

Even a Lady might grow a beard if neglected long enough.  Nothing a little effort and paint won't cure.

I bet she sailed like a whole different boat without that!

Great job on the pictures, thanks for taking the time to post them.
