Title: Another advantage of small boats-Gelinas on Rollovers
Post by: Captain Smollett on March 14, 2008, 03:36:49 AM
In the May/June 2003 issue of Good Old Boat, Yves Gelinas was featured in an article.  Of the rollover that caused his dismasting in the Southern Ocean, Gelinas commented:

Of the rollover, Yves says, "The boat is small. I couldn't fall far." In his tumble in the cabin, Yves accidentally hit the bilge-pump switch, turning it on. "By the time I looked, the bilge was dry," he recalls.

Well, if there ever was an endorsement for small boats, not having far to go in a rollover certainly ranks up there!!
