We pretty much lucked out here, despite or even moreso because of the fact that mostly we were in the eye while she lingered. So wind stayed fairly light and E/NE'erly, which is across river where Hobcaw Peninsula gives us protection, a weather shore just a few hundred feet away.
It's worst here when the wind comes strong from the SW, which is up the Bay. Then there is 6+ miles of fetch, and with enough wind, say up to mid 40's plus - we can see 2-3' waves build. Those are small at sea, but HUGE in a marina! The last day of steady bad weather was Friday, and it did blow SW'erly, but the highest it got was sustained low 20's for a few hours, with some gusts maybe 10-15mph on top of that. That, and some heavy rain bands which moved through overnight before she got far enough away that we were in the clear. So, rough and a little bouncy, but not terrible.

Hoping praying knocking on wood burning incense sticks that we have a "one and done" year!!!
