Title: First Sail
Post by: Bob J (ex-misfits) on September 16, 2018, 09:24:48 PM
I've spent of the summer just finishing up all the loose ends on my boat because this was my "destination" this year. So I'm sitting in the boat this morning feeling a little anxious. My mooring neighbor comes by & says let's go out.  So off we go. I'm still skaking this girl out so I raise the mainsail & as it reaches the top of the stick the halyard states coming apart where it exits the mast. I reach up & grab the "rope" LOL  above where it's calling it quits. I had enough halyard left to take one wrap around the mast cleat..

My neighbor helped me put a messenger on the fubar halyard & off to the store I will go. Hope this works, plan on sailing the boat up the Penobscott River next weekend to have her pulled for the winter. It's time to go back to work so I can do this again next summer.

Cool that you improvised a solution.  There's always something, eh?   :)
