Tomorrow, Oriental, NC has their Instead of Football Regatta at noon. Last year was our first year here and our boat was stuck in the mud as the water had been blown out of the creek. This year our boat was on the hard getting her bottom painted and stuffing box repacked. I called the marina to see where she was at. She's back in the water and ready to go. Now, do I drive the 15 miles to the marina and bring her home tonight, or wait until morning and bring her home in the predicted fog?
I can think of worse "first ever things to do on/for a New Year", than boating on a warm quiet night... :D
I was at bro's house for dinner, the OSU/GA game, and then the Midnight Toast - then another hour+ of chatting with no libations to make sure that my alcohol had enough blood in it for driving home, or something like that...
Point being, I wanted to make my/the first morning of '23 happen aboard.
