Title: Small Boats - Long Distances
Post by: cap-couillon on December 28, 2015, 11:21:45 AM
Move along... nothing important to see here  ;D

Updating the website today including a list of some of my favorite "Boat Quotes" One of my favorites is from Hugo Vihlen "I don't know who named them swells. There's nothing swell about them. They should have named them awfuls."

Of course, that was after making the crossing from St. John's, Newfoundland to Falmouth, England in the 5'-4" (1.62m) sailing vessel Father's Day, completing his voyage in 115 days.

So the  next time someone tells you your boat is too small to sail far... Remind 'em of Hugo and the "awfuls"

115 days in a boat roughly the size of my dinghy....That sounds awful!

Good quote, though. Happy New Year!
