Title: Sonar GPS
Post by: Marc on July 17, 2010, 02:00:55 PM
It has been awhilw since I last posted but I have been around.  I bought a used Lowrance LCX-15mt and I'm trying to find chips for it.  Does anyone out there know or is it too old?  It's a 2002 model.  Thanks ahead of time.  Marc

What format chip does it use?  SD, CF, or something custom?

IIRC, they use Navonics chips.  They are pricy, but you may find someone who has some laying around.

Navonics is pretty clever in that they give a credit ($75 IIRC) on their outdated chips... keeps the old ones from going cheap on the used market.... or at least it did.  Many folks will part with their old ones as the credit does them no good.

I may be wrong, but I believe that is what Lowrance used.
