Title: Space X?
Post by: wolverine on February 04, 2025, 06:45:44 PM
Spent the day cleaning out the boat. When I emerged, I saw a cloud or smoke in the southern sky.  I wasn't sure which it was.  Then to it's left I spotted what I believe to be a satellite launch.  It was crossing in front of the bow. I watched it as it grew brighter, then faded toward the eastern horizon. Others see this often here in Oriental, but this was my 1st time.

I saw the exact same launch, on my way back home from picking up a lil boat in Va. Was driving in that direction and got to wondering about that single cloud, kinda weird looking, up there all by itself... Then I thought "Launch...?", and looking closer and could see the flare of exhaust from the 2nd stage as it ignited, coming out of the cloud.

Really gave me pause - and perspective - as to how much things have changed since being a kid. We still don't have flying cars, but at least space rockets are becoming a fairly regular occurrence. :)

Here's what followed me home. Needs some polishing, but she's all there and in good shape. Planning on some dinghy cruising down in Fl with her.

I like it. I always wanted an O'Day Widgeon. Similar to your new American.
