Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I just came back fro a 3 day two night adventure on Saylorville Lake here in Iowa and I was able to break in my new motor. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Seemed like I had even more HP than my old mariner 9.5 My batteries stayed charged, the motor did a real good job. Now lets hope it can go for 6K miles. This was just an update. Hope everyone is well. Marc
I put over 1000 miles on mine. Only problem was in the shifter linkage. It was under warranty. Let the motor go with the boat when I sold her.
One thing I didn't like was when I ran it dry it was hard to start the next time. 99% of the time it started on the second pull.
Good luck and have fun
I bought one this spring (six-ish months ago). When it was brand new, it took about 8-9 pulls to start (which didn't excite me much) but now it starts on a single pull even after a month off. I probably only have 200 hours on it, so I can't comment on its durability. No complaints yet though.
