Title: A Cruisers haircut
Post by: Delezynski on April 29, 2008, 08:51:57 PM
When cruising,
you get your haircuts when, AND WHERE you can! Does this look anything like the place you go for hair care? We LOVE it!
Susie, from Spirit Long Beach is giving me the haircut.

A video at YouTube...

Hello Guenevere,

we have been in the same sailing grounds last year, and I think I have seen you or heard you around La Paz.  Nice haircut ! Since my dad was a barber, I have some good tools, so I end up being the local hairdresser myself in marinas, boat yards and beaches....My dad would have a good laugh at some results, but never had a customer unsatisfied.. I do not provide the mirror may be it is why  :D
Have you been in San Carlos last summer ?

Manannan,

Yes we have been basing out of La Paz. We are in the process of getting ready to head over to Mazatlan. We should depart some time mid next month.

We did not go to San Carlos. We stayed on the west side of the Sea. You might have heard us on the NET as we were net controllers for a month or so.

We love the Sea, but it's time to move on....

First, welcome to sailfar.

I had seen that video a year or two ago while researching the Norsea 27.  When I saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought of your video.  Click on the thread and wow, its you and your video.  For me it was a small world type of moment.

Good luck with your continued cruising and please share lots of stories.  You guys exemplify the intent of  this sight Long distances on small sailboats.

"...you even have some color down under there.." Oooh!  :o

Great salon. First one I have ever seen, that boats could pull in to. ;D

About two years ago, I switched from $15 (including tip) haircuts, to one of these Remington clippers (http://remington.factoryoutletstore.com/details/1399-2082/Remington-Haircut-Kits-HKVAC-2000.html) that I'd purchased for $30. I am about 15 haircut-worths ahead of the game now, but they don't look quite as good as the job Susie does, I'm sure. ;D

(And BTW - Welcome aboard, y'all! :) +a Grog...)

Of course it helps if you have hair to cut.  I'm rapidly headed towards the Kojak faction of hair styles...not by choice. :)

Hay AdriftAtSea,

I'm trying to do my part out here. I think that was the last haircut I had! All of my life, I wore a suite and tie and was about as straight laced as one could look, ON THE OUTSIDE!

Now it's MY time. You should have seen the look on the kids face when they saw dad with hair as long as mom's. And I was the one always making them get haircuts. He He He......  ;D
