Title: New smaller SaiFar cruiser
Post by: Tim on February 26, 2011, 09:21:21 PM
Well it looks like I am going to make a cruiser out of the Typhoon by adding some electrical to it.
We will get a good boom tent made for it and use it to cruise some this summer and fall. We love sailing it so much it is hard to go back to the Potter even though there is much more cabin space in it.

I will be keeping it minimalistic with a small gel battery and solar panel to keep it going. Primarily it will be used for the occasional "Bebi" anchor light, a Humminbird digital sounder.

Eventually I may put some Nav lights on, though I have battery operated ones for the occasional night forays.

A handheld GPS and battery operated LED lights will allow me to have a very small distribution panel.

The only down side is it is taking me away from working on the Ariel, but hopefully I will have enough time this summer to get some done on it also.

What a wonderfully sweet diversion!

I should think you will  be very happy to put the little time into her, she sounds like she is fitting into the fleet quite nicely.  ;D

(Gorg for including  some pictures)
