Title: S/V Copacetic
Post by: s/v Copacetic on June 15, 2009, 03:32:17 PM
I'm new here and thought I should introduce myself. I sailed Hobie cats for several years then life got in the way for a while. Now I'm back and bringing my family along. We wanted a trailerable boat that we can go places in. It had to be liveable inside and have decent perfomance and strength outside. We think we found the right boat for us in a 1979 Chrysler 26.

I have much to learn so I'll be doing some lurking and asking a few questions when the search function fails me. If all goes according to plan, we'll be making some voyages of a week or two in the coming years and see how it goes from there.

I found Sail Far through a posted link in the excellent Chrysler Sailors forum.

Welcome, Copacetic. There are other Chrysler owners here, as well as plenty of other trailer sailors, coastal sailors and global cruisers. We're all here to share our knowledge and learn from others.

Welcome it's allways nice to have a new member with us usually if you have a question almost about anything you can find a answer here that is one of the many reasons I have great respect for the sailors on this sight. That and they don't say you need a 40 foot boat to sail 2 miles out in the blue or your in danger.

She's new to us so we've only done a shakedown cruise on Lake Mendota so far. Plans are to sail primarily Lake Michigan out of Waukegan, IL or Racine, WI, with an annual trip to where ever interests us. We're hoping to sail Florida to Bimini in a year or two.
