Title: PB&J
Post by: Godot on February 07, 2007, 03:53:59 PM
Bread
Peanut Butter
Jelly

Spread peanut butter to taste on slice of bread
Spread Jelly to taste on other slice
Combine into a sandwich.

(I guess I'm not much of a cook  :-[)

Hot toasted wheatberry bread, peanut butter sandwich.
Napkin to catch the melting peanut butter before it lands on your lap.
Cuban coffee with a package of instant cocoa stirred in!
Repeat as necessary...
My favorite breakfast.

Hey, who cares?  If she will get on the boat and go with you, she is a keeper.   ;D

(I just hope she likes P,B, & J as much as you do).    ;)

Like Adam and CJ&L, I am somewhat of a PB hobbyist. Some of my favorite PB recipes:

-------------

From my Dad:

PB
Butter/margarine
jelly/honey

Use approximately equal amounts, put in a bowl, use a spoon to stir it all together into a uniform gross color. Apply to favorite PB transport mechanism, eat.

-------------

Hot Buttery PB (for health nuts):

Toast bread.
Butter (margarine) bread, reapply to toaster until butter melts.
Smear thickly with PB.
Eat.

-------------

PB with crackers:

Cracker type irrelevant.
Stick knife/spoon/fork/finger into PB, put PB on cracker, eat.
(Can be supplemented/enhanced with jelly/fruit/raisins, or, for the adventurous, cheese.)

-------------

PB with spoon:

Stick spoon in PB, lick PB from spoon.
Minimal prep time, minimal clean up - especially when using finger in stead of spoon.

-------------

For dessert, PB with chocolate:

Dip Hersheys chocolate bar or similar into PB, eat.

ROFL-

Laura's son Ryan just told me to tell you about his Frosted Miniwheats, dipped in PB..No dishes to wash and no double dipping.   ;D

Like a cajun friend of ours says-

"It's all good"

LOL;  Hey, you guys need to visit a dietist. Wouldn´t hurt with a decent cook either.  ;D

I loove to cook, but not under way... sadly enough I am not free from seasickness..  8)

Prior to passage (in colder clime, remember) I would typically prepare a HUGE stew or similar. Then it is easy to heat it up  in portions.

Disclaimer: I am a person who do not mind haveing teh same dish three days in a row if I like the taste of it...

MaxiSwede-

That is where a vacuum sealer comes in very handy... keeps the portions neat and very easy to prepare... just heat up some water, drop the bag into it...and turn on the heat.  and you can use the water for tea or coffee as well.  :D

I don't know how many boat bucks they cost, as mine was a Christmas gift last year, but this is the one (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?pid=00869943000&vertical=Sears&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes) I have, so it appears to be about $120 US.  :D  I also haven't tried it out on the boat yet, and would need an inverter to use it there.

Am I the only one that likes to put potato chips inside the PBJ?   Changes the texture for a change of pace, like PBJ on toast without the toaster.  Paul
